Weymouth Town Council stands with the people of Ukraine

Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Ukraine, and also with their family and friends. We want you to know that you are all in our thoughts.

We condemn this unprovoked aggression and call upon President Putin to call off this assault.

We look to our government to act decisively on the international stage.

We are concerned about the developing refugee crisis and call on the Government to suspend visa requirements for those fleeing the conflict. 

Although there is little that Weymouth can do about international events, we know our communities will do all they can to support those in peril and displaced by the conflict and hope that Dorset as a whole stands with us. We also stand ready to support those organisations arranging support. We will also do whatever we can to avoid purchasing items or services supplied from Russian companies and we urge all other local authorities and businesses to do the same.
