Tree planting to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II

WHO: The Mayor of Weymouth Cllr Ann Weaving will be planting an oak tree in remembrance of Queen Elizabeth II. Volunteers are also encouraged to come together to help plant native trees at Louviers Road for the Queen’s Green Canopy project at 10am. 

WHAT: The new trees will create habitat for wildlife, enhance the landscape and slow down climate change.   

WHERE: Louviers Road, Littlemoor, meet by the water tower next to the skatepark car park. 

WHEN: Saturday 11th February. 10am – volunteers needed to plant trees. 10.30am – Mayor of Weymouth to plant commemorative oak tree.

Weymouth Town Council is inviting media outlets to cover the short ceremony. 

Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Ann Weaving said, “It’s lovely to have been invited to another tree planting event to commemorate the late Queen Elizabeth II.  

“It’s also great to be joined by local communities who are planting trees which will help with climate change.”
