There are plenty of fun packed family-friendly events happening this weekend in Weymouth in celebration of King Charles III Coronation. Weymouth Town Council announced the following events:
Saturday 6th May
For one day only, busking is allowed on Weymouth Promenade in pre-booked time slots. There are four prime locations where busking will be permitted including Alexandra Gardens, opposite Kika Beach Bar, the Charity Stall and Jubilee Clock areas.
Artists who will be busking include:
11.00 – 11.45 Opposite Kika Beach Bar – The Leggomen
12.00 – 12.45 Alexandra Gardens – Lewis Snarey
12.00 – 12.45 Charity Stall – Dorset Wrecks
16.00 – 16.45 Alexandra Gardens – Julie Lewis
There are still slots available between 10am and 5.45pm throughout these four prime locations. To book a slot, email events@weymouthtowncouncil.gov.uk
Sunday 7th May
There will be a King’s Community Concert with a stage on the beach opposite Alexandra Gardens on Weymouth’s award-winning beach. The event will run from 12pm to 10pm with a grand firework display at 9.30pm in Weymouth Bay. This is a free event where The Cheeky Tipple will be attending to provide drinks all day long!
There are many local artists performing including The Decadettes, Wessex Musical Theatre, Dorset for Singing, Ed Hintze, Weymouth Bay Rockers, The Modern Disciples, Milk & Two, John Stone, Lewis Snarey, Under the Carousel and That Brit Pop Band.
There will also be a spectacular Seafront Firework Display at 9.30pm, before That Brit Pop band perform a few more tracks.
There are also some events happening across Weymouth which brings together the communities in celebration of the coronation.

Monday 8th May
Youth Day is an event organised by Weymouth’s Youth Town Council, where local artists will be performing on the stage on Weymouth Beach. This event will run from 12pm to 8pm with The Cheeky Tipple providing mocktails throughout the day.
The line-up includes some artists local to Weymouth:

17.00 – 17.45 Visceract
18.00 – 18.45 Asha Zee & Band
19.00 – 20.00 The Undecided
Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Ann Weaving said, “It’s fantastic to see all the events that are being held across Weymouth this weekend in celebration of the King’s Coronation. This weekend will be very memorable and will bring a lot of communities together throughout the weekend!”
