Temporary Closure of ([part of) The Esplanade, and Custom House Quay, Weymouth for Weymouth Beach Motocross 2023

Dorset Council has issued a Notice under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to prohibit the use of various roads, Weymouth by cyclists, horse riders and all mechanically propelled vehicles, except those taking part in the event and emergency vehicles, to facilitate this public event on the highway.
On Sunday 15 October 2023 between 0800hrs and 1800hrs.
The effect of this notice is as follows:
[1] To impose temporary road closure on The Esplanade between its junction with Devonshire Buildings and the mini roundabout in front of the Pavillion Car Park
[2] To impose temporary road closure on the section of The Esplanade which fronts the Pavillion forecourt leading to Custom House Quay.
The road fronting Devonshire Buildings will be open for access only.
Traffic will be re-routed through the one-way system around Alexandra Gardens to continue on The Esplanade, or can use South Parade for access to Custom House Quay.
