Meet The Team – Adrian

What is your Job Role and your responsibilities?

“My role is to administrate and oversee our allotment sites, our play parks and provide support to the gardens and green spaces team.”

Where you were / what you were doing before joining the Council?

“Before joining Weymouth Town Council, I had careers with the NHS in Primary Care and with the police service in London. Front line officer in different roles for 22 years before I moved to headquarters branch and undertook work in developing community relationships around stop and search and a role inspecting the force. My last posting with the police was in the Firearms Command where I oversaw firearm licensing and the forensic recovery of weapons used in crime.”

“On leaving the service I moved to the South Coast and took up a career with GP surgeries as a Practice Manager. Here I was involved in developing new models of care for the elderly and delivering access to acute care. Having moved to just outside Weymouth I took up a staff role with Dorset police working with the comms team, then undertaking Positive Action recruitment and lastly wider Community Engagement.”

Are you from Weymouth? If not, where are you from / when did you move here if living in Weymouth?

“I’m originally from London and on leaving the police we relocated to the area in 2011. As a family we always holidayed in the area, and I still bring the grandkids to the beach and attractions in Weymouth.”

“I enjoy living and working here as Weymouth and the immediate surrounds has so much to offer for all ages and interests.”

Favourite thing about working for the Council?

“I am fortunate to work with a team that is positive and has a passion to make a difference for the people of Weymouth and those who choose to visit here. Within my role I have opportunities to engage with communities and our different teams. This is an aspect I thoroughly enjoy in my current role.”
