Temporary Traffic Management Notice, East Street, Weymouth

Dorset Council has issued a Notice under Section 14 [2] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. The Notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise likelihood of danger to highway users.
The Notice comes in to operation on 27 November 2023 between 0800 and 1600 and will remain in force for 5 days, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 1 December 2023.
This Notice will enable SGN to carry out works for new connections.
The effect of this Notice is as follows:
[1] To impose temporary road closure on East Street between its junctions with St Alban Street and The Esplanade
[2] To revoke the one way system on East Street between its junctions with Market Street and St Alban Street to allow two way access for businesses and residents.
The alternative route, which will be sign posted is as follows: Maiden Street – Bond Street – The Esplanade
