Notice of By-election – Preston ward

A vacancy for a town councillor has arisen in the Preston ward with a by-election due to take place in January.

It follows the sad news that Cllr Tony Ferrari passed away suddenly last month. Cllr Ferrari had served as the Town Councillor for Preston on Weymouth Town Council since 2019 and will be greatly missed.

Nomination papers must be hand delivered to the Returning Officer, Dorset Council, County Hall,
Colliton Park, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1XJ between 9am and 4.30pm on any working day after the
date of publication of this Notice (excluding bank holidays) but no later than 4pm on Tuesday
12th December.

If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 11th January 2024.
