Weymouth Town Council invite community groups to third Community Networking Event
Weymouth Town Council will host its third Community Networking Event on Tuesday 23rd April in the Council Chamber, at the New Town Hall on Commercial Road. The theme is volunteering.
The events provide a great opportunity for people to network and learn from each other, strengthen community contacts, and share resources and experiences. There will be a presentation on how to recruit and retain volunteers by Volunteer Centre Dorset as well as a light lunch and a chance to network with the other community groups. It will start at 10.15am and finish at 1pm.
Weymouth Town Council’s Community Development Officer Charlotte Emery said: “We’re encouraging Weymouth’s wealth of community and voluntary groups to sign up to the event and get tips on recruiting and retaining volunteers, which is always a hot topic. So why not come along to our next highly successful networking event as they provide a great opportunity to meet others in the community and share ideas and learning with each other.”
There were lots of positive reviews after the previous networking event which was held in January at Castle Cove Sailing Club from the following community groups:
