Win £250 cash at the Monday night fireworks!

Did you know that on Weymouth Town Council’s summer firework nights, Alexandra Gardens Arcade & Family Amusement Park is offering a weekly £250 cash prize on the 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th August before the displays?

Here’s how you can participate:

Location: Find the Weymouth Town Council staff in Alexandra Gardens Pleasure Grounds on Weymouth Seafront (Pavilion end).

Time: Entry is open from 7.45pm to 9.10pm every Monday night.

How to Enter: Write what you love about Weymouth. You need to supply the Council with your mobile number so that the winner can be contacted on the night. These details will not be kept by the Council after the winner has been picked.

Announcement: The winner will be announced each Monday at 9:15 pm via the seafront public address system and will be called in advance using the mobile phone number provided. If we can’t reach you, we will need to move on to the next entrant in order for the prize winners to be announced before the fireworks start so be sure to listen out for your phone.

Entry Fee: None, it’s free!

As a bonus, 50 tokens donated by Helter Skelter Fun Park which are redeemable on the rides at the Helter Skelter on the beach will also be up for grabs.

On Monday 29th July, there were two lucky winners. The first prize of £250 went to Jessica Ritson from Weymouth, who’s favourite thing about Weymouth is the beach. The second prize of 50 tokens for the Helter Skelter Fun Park went to Jonathon Wood, from Ilchester who’s favourite things about Weymouth is the sand, sea, fish & chips and the Pavilion. He said that he couldn’t wait to surprise his boys with the prize.

Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Jon Orrell, said: “This is a wonderful initiative to draw people to the seafront to enjoy the fireworks and participate in a free prize draw. Congratulations to the first two lucky winners and good luck to anyone else who enters over the summer.

“Make sure to come down every Monday, enjoy our local hospitality along the seafront and watch the firework displays, firing time is 9.30pm.”
