New Health Walk – Radipole Park and Gardens / Radipole Nature Reserve

Weymouth & Portland Health Walks have been running for just over a year and half now, and the group have decided to change one of the regular walking routes. The new walk is taking place on Fridays 10.30am leaving from the Swannery car park toilet block and will walk through Radipole Park and Gardens or the Radipole Nature Reserve.

Jane Biscombe, Weymouth Town Clerk, said:

“As a Town Council we are very pleased to continue supporting this wonderful project and this new walk links with our Ramblers Charter for Walking Neighbourhoods, especially having this new green route through our very own Radipole Park and Gardens.”

Ten people attended the first walk last Friday and Daphne Damen, aged 91 years old, said:

“This was my first walk with the group and I was very impressed. All of the volunteer walk leaders were lovely and they made me feel very welcome. I walked half of the route and then used my chair for the remainder of the walk, but at no time did I feel that I was keeping the group waiting. I will be attending this walk again in the future. I have not walked through the gardens for over ten years and I loved seeing all of the plants, wild crocuses and cyclamen which were all in flower.”

The health walks which are currently taking place are as follows:
