Weymouth Town Council to host United Nations Day service

Residents are invited to attend this year’s United Nations Day service on Thursday 24 October. The Mayor of Weymouth Town Council Cllr Graham Winter will host a short service to recognise international United Nations Day. It will take place at the Weymouth Town Council Offices on Commercial Road at 10:30am.

The service will include the raising of the United Nations flag followed by speeches from the Mayor Cllr Graham Winter and the President of the Weymouth and Portland Lions Club, Ryan Hope. 

Mayor Cllr Graham Winter said: “I am delighted to have this opportunity to represent the Town Council and host this proud civic event, recognising United Nations Day. It acknowledges the outstanding humanitarian work carried out by the United Nations throughout the world and recognises the excellent contribution the local Lions club makes to the local and global community.”

The Mayor will be joined by representatives of local business groups, town councillors and members of the public.
