Weymouth Armed Forces Weekend 2024
We have a bumper weekend lined up for our annual Armed Forces Weekend. Here’s all you need to know about what’s happening when, including road closures below.
What to expect
Friday 21st June
Armour & Embarkation, 6.30pm – 8.30pm
A convoy of WWII military vehicles will park up at The Jubilee Clock Tower on Weymouth Seafront. Come along and view the vehicles, ask questions and immerse yourselves in the experience of a large number of WWII vehicles in one location.
Saturday 22nd June
Saturday will see the arrival of the historic military vehicles on the Pavilion Forecourt from 10am. Come along and watch the historic vehicles leave the forecourt at 12.30pm and give them a cheer as they parade along the Esplanade. There will be various association charity and awareness stalls on the Esplanade throughout the day, and there will be music and entertainment from the era with bands playing on the Pavilion forecourt at the following times:
10.30am, The Decadettes
11am, South Wales Police Band
11.30am, The Decadettes
12pm, South Wales Police Band
2pm, South Wales Police Band
Sunday 23rd June
At 11am, Weymouth Seafront with host an open air service for all veterans at the Cenotaph, this will be followed by a Parade along the Seafront with marching bands and military vehicles. If you would like to take part in the Service and Parade, please register below and see more information.
Afternoon entertainment including marching band performances, display of historic vehicles and stalls along the Seafront.
Bands play on the Pavilion forecourt at the following times:
1.30pm, South West Area Sea Cadet Band
2pm, Wessex Military Band
2.30pm, Decadettes
3pm, Dolphin Marching Band
Monday 24th June
At 10.30am, Weymouth Town Council will be raising the Armed Forces Flag at the The New Town Hall on Commercial Road, Weymouth, DT4 8NG.
Sunday 23rd June 2024 – Parade Participation Notes
If you or any of your ex-service association members would be interested in participating in Weymouth’s Armed Forces Celebrations, Remembrance Service and Parade on Sunday 23rd June 2024, please fill in the Parade Participation Form and return to the Resort Team by Friday 24th May 2024.
We welcome all ex-service association members, and their Standards, to participate in the Service and Parade. All participants using wheelchairs must provide their own helpers and include the helper in the total number when registering.
Please note that the Parade route measures approximately 1.5 km along Weymouth Esplanade. Dispersal takes place in the Pavilion car park and free tea and biscuits are provided to all parade participants following the Parade in the Pavilion Ocean Room.

1. On receipt of your completed participation form, we will forward further information to your email address unless you have stated that you prefer details sent in the post. Please ensure that you and your members bring these with them on the day. Included in the email will be the Festival leaflet, Arrival & Forming up details, together with Service Sheets.
