Free community events in Weymouth this summer!
A series of free community events are being organised by Weymouth Town Council for families to enjoy over the summer.
The events include an art day at Tumbledown on Thursday 27th July between 10am and 1pm where people can enjoy crafty activities including pebble painting, creating butterflies, fabric painting and natural weaving.
There will be fresh vegetables for sale that have been lovingly grown at the former farm, as well as face painting for children. The Town Council is encouraging people to walk or cycle to the event as parking is limited on site at Tumbledown (off Radipole Lane, Weymouth DT4 9RU).
And two Wild in the Park family days also take place at Lodmoor Country Park on Wednesday 16th August, and Radipole Park and Gardens on Tuesday 29th August.
Visitors to these beautiful parks can get arty with nature themed craft activities or hunt for clues on a park trail or make a bird feeder. Both events run from 11am to 2pm.
Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Kate Wheller said: “Weymouth Town Council are providing these community events for children and families to enjoy over the summer holidays, so we hope lots of people will enjoy the arts and crafts activities being run.
“Activities range from making bird feeders to natural weaving and pebble painting so, please put the dates in your diary and join us at Tumbledown, Radipole Park and Gardens and Lodmoor Country Park this summer.”
Visitors to Radipole Park and Gardens are reminded to use the car park by the Tennis Club while the main car park is closed due to exciting work to revamp the park.
