Meet The Team – Lisa

Lisa has been our Business Manager since January this year. The objective of her role is to centralise internal functions and create as much synergy as possible meaning our operational staff can be out there doing the things they love with a team of central support behind them, together delivering more for the town we all love.

Where you were / what you were doing before joining the Council?

“After finishing University, I tried a few different roles before joining Lidl UK, I was fortunate enough to be trained up and eventually became an Area Manager for the Brighton region.”

“As beautiful as Brighton is no beach in the UK compares to Weymouth so it was time to come home. It was important to me that I was working for something I felt contributed to the community around me and that’s a huge motivation for me at WTC.”

Are you from Weymouth? If not, where are you from / when did you move here if living in Weymouth?

“I moved from the Middle East to Weymouth when I was 7. My mums family are originally from Dorchester. I went to Southill Primary School then went to Budmouth Academy. I had a great childhood here and I have been fortunate enough to bring up my own son here. As he hits his teen years it’s amazing to see him enjoying the freedom of growing up in the safety of a relatively small town and being able to enjoy the beaches and open spaces I did as a kid.”

Favourite thing about working for the council?

“Everyone has been so lovely! We spend so much of our lives at work I think it’s important to have people who can challenge you and support you all at the same time, WTC provides that.”
