Free parking on Monday 23rd December
The final free parking date for 2024 is fast approaching on Monday 23rd December.
Free parking dates are selected in conjunction with Dorset Council to help support local businesses and events in Weymouth. The final date is given for a week day in December, and Monday was chosen to help residents take advantage of some last-minute Christmas shopping. All town centre car parks operated by Dorset Council will be free of charge to use on this date. See below for the full list.
Cllr Matt Bell, Chair of Environment and Services Committee, said: “Christmas will only be a couple of days away, and schools will have already broken up for the holidays, so December 23rd is an ideal day to select for free parking. It will encourage last-minute shoppers to visit the town, support local businesses and increase footfall during a critical time for retailers.”
The full list of participating car parks is listed below:

Weymouth Town Council’s Environment and Services Committee agreed the dates earlier this year, in conjunction with Dorset Council. Previous events supported by free parking this year have included the Sunday of Armed Forces Weekend in June, Beach Motocross in October – free use of the Pavilion Forecourt and Pavilion rear car park for event set up and participants. Remembrance Sunday and the Christmas Lights Switch-On events in November were also included. Visit the website for more details.
