Meet The Team – Wendy
Wendy is our Activity Officer for the ‘Parks for People’ project at Radipole Park and Gardens. My role is to help deliver the various parts of the project activity plan and ultimately to help more people to visit, enjoy and use this lovely park.
Where you were / what you were doing before joining the council?
“Before joining the council, I worked as a museum curator and have had various roles at museums, historic houses and visitor attractions across Dorset and beyond. In my mid-30s, I went to university as a mature student and prior to that worked as a regional trainer for a bank.”
Are you from Weymouth? If not, where are you from / when did you move here if living in Weymouth?
“I’m originally from Basingstoke but have lived and worked in several places around the UK: Glasgow, Enniskillen, Bristol, Cambridge and Bournemouth to name just a few! I now stay just outside Wool and first fell in love with Dorset when working a summer job at the youth hostel in West Lulworth.”
Favourite thing about working for the council?
“It’s a really friendly and down-to-earth team here. There’s a genuine desire from everyone to help make Weymouth the best possible place to live or visit and that’s a great thing to be a part of.”
