A thank you from Soul Food

This month the Mayor of Weymouth attended a local project called Soul Food, which is run by a team of volunteers who feed homeless and vulnerable people in Weymouth and Portland. They provide food, drink, clothing, and a place to shower.

Soul Food received £100 from the Mayor’s Christmas Fund Appeal in December 2022 which the organisation used towards helping people in need.

Paul White from Soul Food expressed his thanks saying: “A massive thank you for your generous donation to Soul Food! It is such a privilege to be able to serve the people we serve through Soul Food and a lovely boost of encouragement from your partnership.”

The Mayor, Cllr Ann Weaving, added: “Receiving this letter was very heart warming and it’s great to know the money donated went towards such a great cause. Going to Soul Food and experiencing first hand what they do was a great experience and it’s lovely what they do for others.”
