Catering Services Review Update
In the New Year, Weymouth Town Council will advertise an exciting opportunity for new tenants to run its two beach-side catering units.
The Council’s Environment and Services Committee agreed (on Wednesday 4th December) the two kiosks the Council runs profitably will be put out to tender for new tenants to take on, ensuring best value is secured for the two assets.
They include the Prom Café and the Beach Café at Brunswick Terrace, which have both been modernised since the Council took them on in 2021.
Cllr Matt Bell, Chair of Environment and Services Committee, said: “Weymouth Town Council has reviewed its catering service and decided to put its two profitable beachside kiosks out to tender in 2025. This activity will ensure we are using our assets to maintain the highest level of possible income in order to continue maintaining the services we deliver whilst moving forward with the Council’s refreshed Corporate Plan and aspirations for Weymouth. Where best value is not achieved via tender this will be reviewed by the council. “
Further details on the tender process will be available in January.
