Community grants – apply now
We want to hear from local groups and organisations who could benefit from a grant to support their work in the community. The grants are available for community, voluntary or charitable organisations.
Organisations must meet some requirements to be eligible, such as having at least 3 members on the management or committee board. Please see the application form for the full list of requirements.
The grants can be used for a range of purposes, including:
- funding new projects
- buying any necessary equipment
- community events or training
- covering funding needs that have arisen because of the COVID-19 pandemic
Previous recipients of the grants include the Keep in Touch Scheme. The scheme was originally set up in spring 2020 to support vulnerable residents by collecting and delivering food and prescriptions during the national lockdown. The grant has been used to develop the project and it now works to address social isolation. Residents can join for free and sign up for a weekly chat over the phone, or to receive a letter from a volunteer.
The Nest also received a grant for their set up costs. The community shop is based in Weymouth and opened in 2020. They provide cheap, good quality, nutritious food to families and individuals who have limited disposable income.
