Free parking in Weymouth in the run up to Christmas!

Free parking* will be available at several Weymouth town centre car parks on three fun-filled dates for your diary this Christmas.

The first date coincides with the annual Christmas lights switch on which makes a welcome return this year promising festive, family-fun for all. And with two further dates when parking will be free of charge in many Dorset Council-operated car parks, Christmas really has come early!

All the free parking dates – terms and conditions apply – can be found below:

Saturday 27th November Christmas lights switch on with Cllr Colin Huckle, Mayor of Weymouth.

Saturday 4th December Shop local and support Small Business Saturday.

Thursday 16th December Come Christmas shopping!

Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Colin Huckle, said: “To help businesses in Weymouth enjoy a more fruitful festive season this year, we successfully applied to Dorset Council to have car park fees waived on three key dates in the run up to Christmas.

“So, why not join me around the Christmas tree in New Bond Street on Saturday 27th November, 4pm, for the big switch on? Come and support Small Business Saturday on Saturday 4th December, and if you need to do any last-minute Christmas shopping before the holidays, then visit Weymouth town centre on Thursday 16th December.”

*The free parking offer is only available at the following Dorset Council car parks on the three dates listed. The Pavilion and forecourt. Council Offices, North Quay, Governors Lane, Cosens Quay, Harbourside, Melcombe Regis, Park Street, Royal Yard and Swannery.

Please note: Harbourside and Governors Lane car parks have a maximum stay of three hours, and an overnight closure operates from midnight to 9am at Cosens Quay car park. Free parking does not apply to on-street parking.
