Join us for Weymouth Wellness Day, a free community health event

Weymouth Town Council will be organising a free Wellness Day at the Park and Ride site in Weymouth on Saturday 29th June, 11am-3pm.

This event offers a fantastic opportunity for residents and visitors to engage in various wellness activities and learn about local community groups in Weymouth. There will be guided walks and a guided bike ride which anyone can join in with. The guided bike ride will take you from the event to Lodmoor Country Park and through to Overcombe and back (please bring your own bike).

There will be three guided walks on the day. The first one will take you to Lorton Meadows, the second one to Radipole Park and Gardens and the third to Lodmoor Nature Reserve, all returning to the event at Park and Ride. These walks are listed on the Council’s Weymouth Trails website, which promotes free walks exploring Weymouth’s green spaces.

The Council has organised for local community groups to be there to offer unique insights into ways of enhancing your well-being through exercise and being in nature, as well as a chance for people to learn more about what they do for Weymouth.

There will be guided bird walks, and Dorset Police Cadets will be there promoting their bike marking scheme.

Cllr Jon Orrell, Mayor of Weymouth said, “As a former doctor I am delighted to be supporting an event designed to focus on wellbeing for Weymouth residents, as well as discovering ways to get fit for free across the town.

“Whether you want to learn more about wellness from our local community groups or join in on a guided walk or bike ride, there’s something for everyone. We look forward to seeing you there and hope this event helps to promote a healthier and happier Weymouth.”
