Nominations are now open to light up the town’s Jubilee Clock!

Weymouth Town Council are asking people to nominate local charities they would like to see recognised by the Jubilee Clock light up scheme.

In 2024 the Council will be lighting up Weymouth’s iconic Jubilee Clock to raise awareness for good causes with the colours that best represent the chosen charities. One charity can be represented per month, with the clock being lit for up to three days during the month.

In 2023, the clockface was illuminated on several occasions in support of charities and awareness days nominated by the public. Full list can be seen here.

Residents can nominate any local charity or organisation that benefits Weymouth and its different communities by completing a short form online: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/B9HJWXK

Nominations must be received by midday on Friday 19th January. The full list of nominations will then be considered by the Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Kate Wheller.

Mayor, Cllr Kate Wheller said: “This is a great opportunity to tell us which local charity or organisation you would like us to raise awareness of in 2024 by lighting up the Jubilee Clock. This is such a great initiative that the Council runs to shine a light on some amazing organisations that run across Weymouth. So, please get your nominations in by midday on Friday 19th January.”

Fill out the short survey here to nominate a charity today up until the closing date.
