Public meeting to discuss the Community Governance Review for Weymouth

Weymouth Town Council is holding a public meeting on Tuesday 13th December at 5pm in the Council Chamber to discuss its response to the Dorset Council Community Governance Review (CGR).

The CGR is led by Dorset Council who are running a consultation on the proposals and Weymouth Town Council will be responding to the consultation before Christmas. The results of the Dorset Council review will define the town’s main boundary, council wards, and the number of councillors needed to represent residents’ views.

December’s meeting will provide people with an opportunity to discuss the options for the review and help inform the town council’s response to the consultation, which runs until Wednesday 28th December.

Councillor Spencer Flower, Dorset Council Leader and Chair of the CGR working group at Dorset Council will be attending the meeting, which will be chaired by Jane Biscombe, Town Clerk for Weymouth Town Council.

Members of the public and councillors are invited to attend to discuss options on Tuesday 13th December, 5pm in the Council Chamber, The New Town Hall, Commercial Road, Weymouth.

Everyone is encouraged to make their views known on Dorset Council’s CGR by visiting www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/community-governance-review-2022 For a paper questionnaire, call 01305 221000 or ask for one at your local library.
