Volunteering discussed at Community Networking Event

Around 30 people attended our second Community Networking Event of the year in the Council Chamber on Tuesday 23rd April, which was themed on volunteering.

Our Community Development Officer, Charlotte Emery, said: “Vicky Hall, (pictured above, left) from Volunteer Centre Dorset gave an enlightening presentation on recruiting and retaining volunteers. Thank you Vicky, I took a lot away from the presentation including how to look after your volunteers, inclusive volunteering and micro volunteering.

“Lots of productive networking took place over lunch and there was a positive buzz in the room. Thanks to everyone who attended, I thoroughly enjoy meeting the incredibly dedicated people and organisations who make Weymouth the amazing town it is.”

Our next Community Networking Event is on Tuesday 9th July on partnership working and sharing resources. Venue and how to book a place at this free event will be provided at a later date.
