Weymouth Town Council to recognise United Nations Day
Weymouth Town Council will be recognising United Nations Day on Tuesday 24th October with the raising of the United Nations Flag.
The public are invited to attend this year’s service. The Mayor of Weymouth Cllr Kate Wheller will host a short ceremony to recognise international United Nations Day. It will take place at the Weymouth Town Council Offices forecourt on Commercial Road at 10.30am.
The ceremony will include the raising of the United Nations flag followed by speeches from the Mayor Cllr Kate Wheller and the President of the Weymouth and Portland Lions Club, Ryan Hope.
Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Kate Wheller said: “I take great pride in commemorating this significant day that celebrates the remarkable humanitarian efforts undertaken by the United Nations across the world. The United Nations’ mission and contributions hold particular significance for our global community.”
